A new Speed Indication Device is now in place on Sleaford Road.
For those of you who haven't seen it yet - the Parish Council are pleased to announce that there is a new Speed Indication Device (SID) now working on Sleaford Road at the entrance to the village.
This device is from a new supplier, Elan City, and should prove far more reliable than the previous ones which kept breaking down. As you can see the device works from solar power and the panels are powerful enough to ensure that the batteries should never need any supplementary charging.
Like the previous ones, this device records the passing speeds of all traffic and we can download the data to produce a record of driver's habits and have a clear picture of the extent of the speeding problem in our villages. Be aware that it actually records speeds of traffic travelling in both directions.
We don't envisage moving this unit to other locations but we do hope to have another one in the future at the other end of the village.
