Dear Sir / Madam,

 

I hereby give you notice that the next Ordinary meeting for Cranwell, Brauncewell and Byard's Leap Parish Council will be held on Monday 8th June 2026 at Cranwell Village Hall, Old School Lane, Cranwell Village, NG34 8DF                          starting at 7.15 pm.    Members of the press and public are welcome to attend.

All members of the Parish Council are summoned to attend for the purpose of considering and resolving upon the business to be transacted at the meeting, as set out hereunder.

At 7.15 pm., before the meeting starts, there will be a public forum when members of the public may ask questions or make short statements to the Council on any agenda item.  There will also be an opportunity for visiting Representatives to briefly address the assembly.  All Parish Councillors are to attend at this time.   

 

AGENDA

 

1. To receive apologies for absence and reasons given i.a.w. Local Government Act 1972, Sch 12, para 40. 

 

2. To receive declarations of interest and to consider applications in relation to Disclosable Pecuniary Interests.   Disclosure of pecuniary and non-pecuniary interests is to be in accordance with the Localism Act 2011. The need for disclosure is to be based upon agenda items, or at any suitable time during a meeting when it becomes apparent to a Member.  Cllr Youle to sign Declaration of Acceptance of Office as re-elected Chair.

 

3. Notes of the Meetings of the Parish Council held on Monday 11th May 2026 to be approved as Minutes of the Meetings. (AY)

 

4. Financial Matters - All Councillors have a continuous opportunity to review everything on the Accounting system.

a. Approve the payments and receipts made since the last meeting. (LF) Attached Appendix A

b. Approve the payment of invoices etc. as listed on the “Payments to be Authorised” sheet -Appendix B..

c. Approve the bank reconciliation as at 31.5.26 (LF) Attached

d. To review the latest Summary of “Reserves” balances.  (LF) Attached

e. To review and approve the budgets -v- actual spreadsheet at 31.5.26. (LF) Attached.

f. Resolve to pay percentage share of the SLCC subscription for the clerk at £246.35.

g. Resolution to pay LALC subs of £556.26.

 

5. Planning Applications:   

25/0932 – 28 No dwellings at land off Sycamore Road – pending consideration.

25/1377 – replacement bungalow at 21 Willow Lane – pending consideration.

25/1536 – Erection of new bungalow and double garage at rear of 20 Willow Lane – pending consideration.

26/0194 – Conversion of stone barns to 6 dwellings at Brauncewell – pending consideration.

26/0369 - Oak framed extension at Paling Cottage, Brauncewell – approved.

26/0555 – Tree removal at 38 Sleaford Road – pending consideration.

 

6. Road safety and highways matters -    Monthly report by SD.  Discussion and resolution with regard to Village Entrance Gates (SD).  Response regarding a zebra crossing and a speed reduction from 60 mph.  Consider email from Clive Stachon regarding siting of 30 mph sign at 41 Sleaford Road.  Resolution regarding street naming of Manor Farm development.

7. Village Hall and Social Club – update on any response from VH and SC.  VH has requested permission for a noticeboard on the village green (same style as ours) – we need to agree (or not) where they can put it.  They have also mentioned  the PA system for use by the Events team for village events. 

8. Consider instigation of a PC WhatsApp Group and resolution as to those who can sign up.

9. Update on footpath North Road / Willow Lane.

   10. Village Green Christmas tree lights – discussion and resolution as to purchase.

11.Play area and playing field: update on new equipment (AY).    Flickering light at end of footpath near play   

       area - repaired on 4th June.   Play area painting of perimeter fence completed.

 

12. Bristow Estate – consider taking over cutting of the green plus the verges on College Road either side of Bristow Road. 

        Cost  for our contractor to take this on additional £45 per month.  Cost to cut back trees: £750 or £530.

13.Noticeboard at Bristow Estate –new noticeboard installed.

14.Litter bins for Sleaford Road and Byards Leap – update from Cllr Boden. 

15. Consider quotes for signage to Bowls Club and Social Club.

16. Review of Councillors’ Areas of Responsibility.

17.Next PC meeting –Monday 13th July 2026.
